The short version
EcoJar is a single-player offline app with no account and no server. You install it, you use it, it stops there. There is nothing for you to agree to that would give us anything of yours, because we do not receive anything of yours.
Licence to use the app
You get a personal, non-transferable licence to use EcoJar on devices you own or control, on the terms of the store you obtained it from (Apple's Licensed Application End User Licence Agreement, or the Google Play Terms of Service). Where those store terms and these terms disagree, the store terms win.
What you make in the app
Your jars are yours. They never leave your device, so we could not claim anything in them even if we wanted to.
What you may not do
- Resell or redistribute the compiled app as your own.
- Use the EcoJar name or icon in a way that suggests we made or endorsed something we did not.
The underlying simulation engine is open source and separately licensed — see Credits. Those terms are more permissive than these; nothing here restricts what the MIT Licence grants you over that code.
No warranty
EcoJar is provided as is, without warranty of any kind. It is a toy ecosystem, not a scientific instrument: it deliberately omits temperature, pH, water chemistry and much else. Do not use it to make decisions about a real aquarium or a real animal.
Liability
To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect or consequential loss arising from use of the app. Nothing here excludes rights you have under consumer law that cannot be excluded — in Australia, that includes the guarantees under the Australian Consumer Law.
Changes
If these terms change, this page will be updated and the date at the top will change with it.
